10 Days / 100 Actions – First Action
From the Womens March official website – https://www.womensmarch.com/100/:
Every 10 days we will take action on an issue we all care about, starting today.
THE FIRST ACTION
Write a postcard to your Senators about what matters most to you—and how you’re going to continue to fight for it in the days, weeks and months ahead. We’re offering printable postcards for you to download.
You can go it alone, or consider inviting some friends, neighbors and fellow Marchers over for a drink or dinner sometime in the next ten days to talk about your experience and fill out your postcards.
STEP 1: GET YOUR CARDS
Get the official card printed (see below), design your own, or buy a card. If you have the equipment, you can print at home, or download the file and get cards printed locally.
STEP 2: MAKE THEM YOUR OWN
Write down your thoughts. Pour your heart out on any issue that you care about, whether it’s ending gender-based violence, reproductive rights and women’s health, LGBTQIA rights, worker’s rights, civil rights, immigrant rights, religious freedom, environmental justice or anything else.
If you need some inspiration, check out the Women’s March Unity Principles and #WhyIMarch hashtag.
STEP 3: SHARE IT WITH THE WORLD &
SEND IT TO YOUR SENATOR
Before you send it, take a photo of your postcard and use the #WhyIMarch tag when posting it to social media.
Address it to Marco Rubio and Bill Nelson, put a stamp on your card, and put it in the mail.

SB-128 – Stand Your Ground
Not all bills make it very far, but anytime a bill is introduced that is a potential threat, we will be setting up a “Call to Action”. This is a coordinated effort by other groups. Please read for more info:
Today, Tuesday Jan. 24th at 2pm – The FL Senate Judiciary Committee will take up SB-128. The bill will require prosecutors to try ‘Stand Your Ground’ cases twice — once in a pre-trial hearing and once in front of a jury. The burden of proof would shift from defendants to prosecutors, expanding the stand your ground rights.
ACTION: CALL TODAY! (Script) — ‘Please vote NO in the Judiciary Committee on SB128, the bill to expand “Stand your Ground”. Studies have shown that such laws do not deter crime, but they do result in an increase in homicide rates. Expanding the existing Florida Stand your Ground law will only make the state a more dangerous place to live. Please vote “no” on SB128.”
